Joan will also be remembered by the Bichon Frise Club of Canada for her immense contribution to breeding and showing of the breed. Her Bichon – Damien – won The National Specialty in Vancouver, the first for a Bichon Frise and the club now honours her contributions with a bi annual trophy for the Bichon Frise who wins the BBFC National Specialty. The family would like to thank Dr. Broderick and his team for their wonderful care of Joan over the years; Dr. Bhargava and his team at the ICU for their care and compassion, Sue Gallant and her wonderful staff at Regency Manner, the caring staff at Towers of Port Hope and Cindy our local LIHN coordinator and all her team for the amazing help and care they all provided.
