Florence (Flo, Florrie) Marion Hall (Brown), aged 97 of Oakville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, February 24, 2019. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Hall and granddaughter Jessica Sampson and her brothers, Eric, Aubrey and Harold Brown. Florence is survived by her daughters Susan Sampson (Roy) and Lois Miles (Bob) and grandchildren Megan and Jenny. She is also survived by her brother Hoover Brown who resides in Twilllingate, Newfoundland.
Florence was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland on November 20, 1921. She spent most of her years in Quebec and Ontario, but her heart never left the island of Twillingate which she loved so much.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her 6 years at Wyndham Manor in Oakville and for helping to keep her comfortable in her last weeks in palliative care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 between the hours of 5-7 p.m.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Turner & Porter, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario at 11 am with a reception to follow.
You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
