Elizabeth “Betty” Barbosa
Elizabeth “Betty” Barbosa, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of smith, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Prairie Lakes Seniors Community, at the age of 97 years.
Betty was born on October 15, 1921 in Forfar, Scotland. She was a Postmistress in WWII, where she met her husband Bob Barbosa. They resided in England, and had their first child, Therese “Tess” there. They moved to Canada in 1954 and lived in Edmonton. Their second child, Bob, was born in Edmonton. Betty worked as a sales clerk at Hudson Bay Company for many years.
In Betty’s later years, she moved to smith, AB to be close to her daughter Tess. Betty loved to golf as well as sit by a fire with a glass of red wine.
She will be sadly missed by her family: daughter Tess, son Bob, and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in Spring 2019.
