It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and GG, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the age of 83. She will be missed by her children, Deb (John), Randy (Ria), Doug (Susan), Darlene (George), and Ron. Barb was a fun-loving grandmother to Leslie (Robin), Brieana (Danijel), Meghan (Ryan), Lyndsay (Kyle), Kris, Justine (Jeff), Kevin (Caitlin), Michael, Thomas (Lindsay), and Shaun. Special GG to Deacon,… Read More » Magnus, Benjamin, Blaise, Lucas, Greta and Brielle. Predeceased by her husband Tom (1994). Barb belonged to a large family and was the last surviving sibling. She will be fondly remembered by her in-laws from both the Zimmerman and Dowling families, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was an active member of Freelton United Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved her community and was actively involved in sports both herself and as a dedicated supporter to her children and grandchildren. She was also a no-charge limo driver for her grandchildren, which they will always be thankful for. Barb will be remembered for her feisty personality, and loving nature. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Bishop Dowling Wing), for all of their excellent care and compassion. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., a KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St., N, Waterdown, where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. Reception will be held at Freelton United Church. Interment, Carmel Cemetery. Donations to Freelton United Church in Barb’s memory would be appreciated by family.
