Sydney Gray
1927-2019
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sydney at the ripe
old age of 91 and a half (as he would say). He died peacefully in his
sleep at home, as were his wishes. Predeceased by his wife of 58
years, Helga Eggers, he will be lovingly remembered by Susan (Peter),
Debbie (Stephane) and his four grandchildren, Kasia, Jana, Simon and
Zachary.
Sydney came to Canada from Glasgow in 1953 as a young accountant and
had a very successful career in Sherbrooke and Montreal, rising to be
CFO of Vickers Canada in the 1980s. He and Helga raised their family
in Beaconsfield, where they were mainstays of the community for over
40 years. He moved to Branchton, ON to live out his final years with
Susan.
At his request, no funeral will be held. Donations in his name can be
made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
