OBITUARY
Rita Spencer
October 16, 1930 – January 6, 2019
Spencer; Rita (née Cremasco)
Peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice/Hankinson House on Sunday January 6th 2019 in her 89th year. Loving wife of George. Beloved mother of Nancy (John Mark) Keyes, Chris (Tracey Stevenson), Michael (Debbie) and predeceased by her daughter Paula (Guy Morency) and her son Mark (Kim Flanagan). Dear Nonna to David (Chelsea), Robert, Martin, Adele, Elyse (Bryn), Patrick, Michelle, Charlotte, Evan, Conor, Sophia, James, Colin and Bisnonna to Stephen, Felix and Rhys. Predeceased by her parents, Maria and Tony, and two brothers, Albert and Johnny. Rita was a proud graduate of Loretto Academy of Guelph and trained as a R.N. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Guelph followed by graduate nurse’s training at Polyclinic Hospital in New York City. After raising her children she returned to nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brantford. Rita was a life-long member of the C.W.L., an active volunteer in the community, and a faithful friend to many.
The family will receive friends at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street on Friday January 11th 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the church at 11:00 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice/Hankinson House or to Canadian Food for Children would be appreciated.
