Obituary of John Lainey
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late John Baptiste Lainey announce his passing on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 95 years. He will be forever loved and missed by his children: Michael Lainey, Theresa Young, Ellis Lainey, Gerarld Lainey, Marina Lainey, Ann Rouzes, Catherine LeCointre, Robert Lainey, Majella Lainey, Bernard Lainey, Delores Green, John Lainey Jr., Verna Lainey; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-granchildren; sister Catherine Moraze as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Anatole and Ella Lainey; wife Alfreda; daughters Mary and Phyllis Lainey; sisters: Emily Oliver, Maria Lainey, Theresa Lainey; brothers: Andrew Lainey and Gerard Lainey. Visitation will take place at St. Ann’s Chapel, Mainland on Wednesday, January 30th between 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, January 31st between 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Lourdhu Raju Madanu officiating. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mainland, NL. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
