KORTEN, John ‘Hammer’ – Passed away, surrounded by his family, at the Juravinski Cancer Centre on January 20, 2019 at the age of 66. Devoted husband and best friend of Patricia Korten. Loving father of Jeremy Korten (Stefanie), Mark Korten (Doreen), James Korten, Colleen Mann (Paul), and Timothy Wood (Teresa). Cherished grandfather of Crystal (Matt), Dale, Peyton (Dallas), Zak, Jake, Travis, Abigail, Grace, Maia, Zoey, Rhys, Claire and great-grandfather to Colton. Dear brother of Joanne Heinan (Gerald), Bernie Korten (Linda) and dear brother-in-law to Tina Bielecky (Bill) and Debbie Moraze. Hammer will be missed dearly by all of his friends, especially Bruno, Ronnie, Felicia, Kristen, Heather, Mandy and James. Hammer will be remembered as an exceptionally hard and determined worker throughout his career, both at General Motors and Cyanamid. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation towards the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their compassionate care towards John over the past few months. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 am at the funeral home.
