Obituary for Jim McKenzie
Jim McKenzie
1936 – 2019
Jim McKenzie was born on June 12, 1936 in Big River, SK. He was one of eight children born to Charles and Emily McKenzie.
Jim passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the F.W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia.
Jim left home at a young age and went to work in road construction and then the trucking industry. In 1957 he married Donna Servello of Fernie, BC and in 1960 they settled in Cranbrook, BC.
Jim’s passion in his later years was spending time at the casino, being at Rosen Lake with the family and wintering in Arizona where he and Donna had many good friends.
Jim spent the last five years in the F. W. Green Memorial Home where he received exceptional care. Our family would like to thank the amazing staff there, who showed him love and compassion. Your support given to Donna over the years has been greatly appreciated.
Jim leaves to mourn, his loving wife Donna of 61 years; his three children Kim and her family; Marny (Dave) and Don (Natalie); his grandchildren Gord, Mike (Michelle), Tim (Taylor), Heather, Chelsey and Sydney; and his great-grandchildren Braiden, Cora, Calissa, Brooklyn, Duke, Jude, Harlowe and Kinsley.
A memorial gathering celebrating Jim’s life will be held in Rosen Lake, BC in the spring of 2019.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
