Gwen N Smyth
June 9, 1923 – January 14, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwen N. (Kyte) Smyth of Halifax, N.S. which occurred at Northwood, Ivany Place Nursing Home on Monday, January 14th. 2019 at the age of 95.
Gwen was a faithful member of St. Agnes Church in Halifax; A member of the Mothers Cystic Fibrosis support group for many years. She attended schools in Trinidad, Bedford, Antigonish. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Glace Bay in 1945. She worked part-time in the nursery at The Home of The Guardian Angel in Halifax.
She is survived by her children David (Sharon) of Bedford, N.S. Victor (Moira) of Vancouver, B.C. Daughter in- law- Nancy (Mike) Halifax, N.S. Grandchildren Brendan (Halifax) and Hanna (Vancouver), Brother Patrick, Ottawa Ontario, Sister- in- law Gayle Kyte of Ottawa, Ontario, several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved Goddaughters. She will be fondly remembered by Stephen, Christopher and Amanda Ottawa, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her parents Stan and Bessie (Maynard) Kyte of Antigonish, N.S. Husband George (Tan) Smyth, sons Francis Paul and Francis Coady, Brother Dr. John (Tink) of Ottawa, Ontario, Sister-in-law Beverly Kyte Ottawa, Ontario, Sister-in-law Mary and Brother-in-law Connie MacKinnon, Sydney, N.S. , Msgr. Frank Smyth, Antigonish, N.S.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of J.A. Snow Funeral Home in Halifax, N.S.
Visitation on Friday, January 25th. 2019 from 1-4 p.m.
A funeral will be held Saturday, January 26th. 2019 at 2 p.m. all in J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
