The family of Erwin George Goetsch is very saddened to announce his passing on January 9, 2019 at the age of 84 years.
Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Goetsch nee Milot and son Dale (Jo) Goetsch, Erwin is survived by Jean’s family – sisters; Emilia Sinning, Alice Goetsch, brother Victor Milot, brother-in-law Lucien Casavant – his godchildren; Kin Komar, Dean Milot, and Terry Demarais, brother Walter Goetsch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He is also survived by his “Friendship-Adopted” family, the Gettis family – along with all their children.
He is predeceased by his parents Bruno and Elsie Goetsch, sister Irma Ronnenkamp, brothers; Arno Goetsch and Werner Goetsch, godson Paul Casavant, and numerous brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.
A Special thank you to the Honorary Pallbearers; John Gettis, Gerald Milot, Pat Gettis, Brian Bauer, Kim Komar, and Marcel Casavant.
The family would like to thank the Associated Ambulance Service of Athabasca and the staff of the Athabasca Healthcare Centre and a special thank you to the nurses of the Palliative Care Ward for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Erwin and all our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Athabasca Missionary Church with Pastor Al Plat officiating.
Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Athabasca Healthcare Centre – Palliative Care; 3100 – 4th Avenue, Athabasca, Alberta, T9S 1M9
