Johnston, Dorothy Jean ~ Promoted to Glory with family by her side at home on Sunday January 27, 2019 in her 95th year. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Ernest. Cherished mom of Judy Switzer (Glen), Sue Johnston and Karen Howard (Kelly Ewin). Loving Grandma/Grams to Shannon Switzer, Kerri Switzer (Paul Hutchinson), Andrew Howard (Bethany), and Julie Hough (Paul). Great Grandma to Vanessa and Lacey Junkin. Survived by her brothers John Maslen (Anne) and Lindy Maslen (Dale) sister in laws Annie Maslen and Bev Maslen. Predeceased by her parents Alf and Lucy Maslen and by her brothers Bert and Bill. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Thursday January 31 from 6-8 p.m. Visitation from 12 until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Lindsay Community Church, 51 Eglington Street, Lindsay on Friday February 1st. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army Lindsay Community Church or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Palliative Team doctors and nurses (especially Sharon, Laurel and Dr. Hainer) for their care and support over the past few months, special thanks to Carol Knott, Clinical Navigator for her never ending compassion, patience, guidance and assistance in making things “doable” and Janet of Para Med for her care and kindness. You all helped enable us to grant Dorothy’s wish to remain at home.
