Obituary of Bob Hewitson
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at Lee Manor, on Wednesday morning, January 16th, 2019. Robert Alexander Hewitson, of Owen Sound and formerly of Annan, in his 101st year. Dearly loved husband of Myrna Hewitson (nee Wakefield) for 32 years and the late Katherine Hewitson (nee Lemon) for 40 years. Loving father of Suzanne Abbott, of R.R. #1, Owen Sound and step-father of Virginia Schoug (Robert), of Freelton and Michael Forsyth (Lori), of Texas. Proud grandfather Amanda Abbott (Vishnu), Jennifer Walker (Matthew), Mayla Abbott (Ahmed), Hillary Abbott (Daniel); step-grandfather of Coral Bennie (Derek), Jasmine Schoug (Andrew), Katherine Johnson (Mathew), Robert Forsyth, Tim Forsyth, Anna Zambrano, Evelyn Forsyth, Michael Forsyth; his great-grandchildren, Pavan Robert Singh, Heath Robert Walker; his step-great-grandchildren, Hudson Bennie, Harlow Bennie, Zachary Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Scarlett Forsyth & Leon Forsyth. Dear brother of Evelyn Lemon, of Tara. Bob will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Eliza Hewitson; his step-mother, Jessie Howie; his sister, Jean McPherson; his brothers-in-law, Donald Lemon and Clarence McPherson. Bob was the Reeve of Sydenham Township from 1978 to 1982 and a member of the Grey County Council from 1974 to 1982.

WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Friday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Bob Hewitson will be held at Central Westside United Church, 310 – 10th Street West, Owen Sound, on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Nicholas Forrester officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
