1928-2019
The passing
of Antonia (Spanjers) Schenkels of Montague, PEI, wife of late Frank
Schenkels occurred on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Gillis Lodge,
PEI. Born on December 4, 1928 in Escharen, Holland, she was
the daughter of the late Franciscus and Maria (Fransen)
Spanjers.
Antonia is
survived by her children, Frank (Melissa) of Manitoba, Henry (Debbie)
of Nova Scotia, Joe (Valerie) of Boiestown, NB and Mary (Arnold) of
Prince Edward Island; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren;
sister, Josephine Bleumink; sisters-in-law, Annie Spanjers of Holland,
Leen Spanjers of Holland, Dora Spanjers of USA; several nieces and
nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased
by her sisters, Elizabeth Spanjers, Annie (John) Schepens; brothers
Antoon, Martin, William (twin brother), John (Ann), Matthew (Hannah)
and Pete Spanjers; brother-in-law, Arnold
Bleumink.
Visitation
will take place at St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church,
Boiestown, NB on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 1-3 pm. A Funeral Mass
will take place at St. Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church on
Friday, February 1, 2019 at 3 pm. Interment will be in St. Joachim’s
Cemetery at later date. For those who wish, remembrances may
be made to the Alzheimer Society, National Service Dogs or the charity
of the donor’s choice.
