Yvonne Llewellyn 2018

Obituary Overview
Yvonne Llewellyn
Yvonne Elizabeth (Beazley) Llewellyn, arrived in our world on October 26, 1953, brightening what would otherwise be a foggy day in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Yvonne was born to loving parents, Rosetta (Rose) and Harold James Beazley. Rose (Coolen) later remarried to Yvonne’s other-father, Doug Coolen. Yvonne left our world on September 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, joining her mother, Rose, father Harold; daughters, Krista Rose Llewellyn, Tammy (Llewellyn) Sampson, and brothers, Harold & James ‘Jimmy’ Beazley in their joyous afterlife. Nothing could have prepared us for the day Yvonne moved on. Tragically, her passing was unexpected and sudden, no time to prepare
our hearts for the silence of her beautiful voice or the absence of her loving presence. No words can adequately describe the incredible Wife, Mother, and Friend Yvonne was to her loved ones left behind. We all learned from Yvonne; she was a teacher of courage, strength, love, and kindness. We will miss her softness, her laugh, and above all her caring heart. Even through this time of loss, her heart remains connected to us always, by an invisible string of love stretched across boundaries of time, distance and absence. Her love was unyielding, and she will be loved always. She is survived by her best friend, life partner and husband of 43 years, John Llewellyn. Daughter, Lynn (Llewellyn) Barrington; sons, Scott Llewellyn, John D Llewellyn; brothers, Derrick & Darrell Coolen, Brian & Dale Beazley, Shawn Beazley, Sister Maria Beazley; grandchildren, Sadie & Jonathan Barrington, JP Llewellyn; daughter-in-law Tania; son-in-law David; sister-in-law (and-in-heart) Stacie Pennell; sisters-in-law, Lisa Coolen & Glenda Beazley; mother-in-law, Linda (Beazley) Harris; sons-in-heart, Rory MacKinlay & Jeff MacKinnon; nieces & nephews, Tammie, ‘Scottie’, ‘Little’ Harold, Tamara, Thomas, ‘Noonie’, ‘Angie’, and Dean. She will be especially missed by her beloved cats, Bobbie & Lou, who followed her everywhere. Yvonne’s greatest interests belonged with her young grandchildren, Jonathan & Sadie, who she was determined to see at least once a week even through her busy work and home-life schedule. She was a bleeding-heart animal lover, feeding many (many!) stray cats, birds, and yes, even raccoon families, outside her back door. She was a cook her entire life, most recently calling IMP Definite Food Service Cafeterias her work-home. She loved the opportunity to work with and serve the many wonderful and kind people there that she talked about so often. She comes from a family of musicians, and in her younger years
was a talented singer, song writer, and guitar player. She loved her ‘shows’, and was disappointed as her favourite soap operas slowly disappeared from TV. A Christian, she prayed daily and always had faith she would travel to Heaven some day to be with her family who traveled before her. Her flame, so bright, burns on through her children, their children, and all the memories she has gifted to the people she has touched through her short life. Join us in remembering the special woman who lives on through all of us.
Visitation for Yvonne will take place 7pm-9pm, Sunday Sept 30th, Atlantic Funeral Homes, Halifax Chapel.
Celebration of Life Service will take place at Fairview United Church, Monday October 1st at 1:30 pm, followed by reception. She will be laid to rest with her family before her, at Gate of Heaven, 3:30pm.
