Winnifred “Winnie” MacIntosh (Smith)
Obituary – Winnifred MacIntosh
February 4, 2018 – July 19, 2018
The family of Winnifred MacIntosh announce, with love, her peaceful death at the Pines
Long-Term Care Home in Bracebridge, Ontario.
Winnie was the beloved wife of Doug MacIntosh, deceased in 2015. She was the mother of
Lynne, Kathy, Eileen (deceased), Doug, Chris and Joan, grandmother and great grandmother
to many cherished children.
Winnie was born in the Hamilton area and lived there and in Burlington for most of her long
life. She and Doug moved to Bracebridge in 2013.
Winnie met and married Doug while serving in the armed forces. Winnie and Doug enjoyed
their love of nature at their cottage at Lake Nosbonsing. Winnie loved to read, walk, tend her
plants, complete crosswords, sing and crochet. As a widow, she was a well-loved member of
the Pines community.
The MacIntosh family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Pines for their
dedication, professionalism and sincere appreciation of Winnie, especially at the end. Your
friendship enriched her life!
Finally, Mom, thanks for everything! Rest in peace, gentle soul
