Wayne Leeland Smith
Passed away on October 16, 2018
SMITH, Wayne Leeland (Retired Funeral Director and Former Manager of Comstock Funeral Home) – At Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Muriel Ruth Smith (nee:Kemble). Dear father of Bryan Smith and his wife Alison, Carolyn Trott and her husband Chris (and the late Craig Pilgrim). Friend and Papa of Tyler. Brother of Tony Smith (Jura) of Belleville and the late Jack and Gord Smith. Brother-in-law of Maureen Phillips and Joyce Smith. Wayne was a Charter and Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Peterborough-Kawartha, 12 years elected Representative of the Board of Funeral Services and founding member of Bereaved Families of Ontario, Peterborough Chapter. Visitation will be held at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Thursday, October 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to be held at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, 1140 St. Paul’s Street on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 am; with visitation from 9:45 -10:45 am at the church. Interment Cherry Valley Cemetery, Prince Edward County. If so desired, in memory of Wayne, donations to St. Stephen’s Memorial Fund or Community Care Peterborough would be appreciated.
