Obituary for
Wanda Heyens (Caul)
Wanda Ann Heyens
It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda Ann Heyens announces her passing on May 22, 2018 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario, with many family and friends by her side. Funeral services and interment will take place on Saturday, May 26th at 11am at Our Lady of the Way Church in Pinewood and the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Stratton, ON. Visitation will be held at the Northridge Funeral Home, Friday May 25, 2018 from 7-8 p.m.
Wanda was born on December 19, 1966 in Blackhawk, Ontario to Bill and LaVerne Caul. She married the love of her life, Ted Heyens, in 1986. Together, they raised Hailey, Theo and Cody on the family dairy farm in Stratton, Ontario, on the banks of the Rainy River.
Wanda is survived by her husband Ted, parents Bill and LaVerne Caul, her siblings Kelvin Caul (Shelly), and Jim Caul (Margie), children Hailey Heyens (James), Theo Heyens (Samantha), and Cody Heyens (Miranda) and mother in law Margaret (late Leon )Heyens.
As well, she is survived by many, many relatives on both sides of the Heyens and Caul families and by her retriever Rosie, and her laying hens, whom she also loved very much! The apples of her eye were her young nieces and nephew Brynlee, Tarryn and Lydia Libiak. She was an amazing great Aunt and, as she constantly hinted to her children, would have made an equally amazing Grandma!
The thing that Wanda loved most in the world was to spend quality time with her family; whether out fishing on the Rainy River, swimming up at the cabin on Rainy Lake or helping to milk or herd cows on the family dairy farm in Stratton. Wanda always made sure that everyone present appreciated how special spending those everyday moments together was.
Wanda’s family wishes to thank all of the friends and relatives who lent their overwhelming support in Wanda’s final days and hours. It eased the pain of her passing and reminded us all of the kindness, care and love that Wanda brought to her life. It was very special to see that same care returned many times over during Wanda’s battle with cancer.
These few words cannot express how much she will be missed or the contributions she made to her family, friends and community.
Memorial donations can be made in Wanda’s memory to the Riverside Palliative Care Room, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON, P0W 1E0.
