OBITUARY
Walter Volodymyr Bartkiw
February 13, 1930 – December 7, 2018
Peacefully passed away at St. Catharines General Hospital on December 7, 2018 at the age of 88. Survived by his loving wife Noreen and children Marianne (Chris), and John (Shannon). Sadly missed by his grandson Owen who was his pride and joy, as well as his step-granddaughter Natasha, brother Alex and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter is predeceased by his parents John and Anastasia and brothers Peter and Roman. Walter worked for the Niagara District School board and was also a farmer, writer, and musician.
The family will receive visitors at HULSE AND ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346) on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm., with Panachida beginning at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE, Augusta and Facer Street in St. Catharines, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery in Grimsby. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Building Fund or Community Care would be appreciated.
