Forever Missed & Always Remembered
Verna Joyce Duguay age 77 of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Gables Lodge surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Advocate Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Belle (Isabelle) Morris.
Verna was best known for her sense of humor and quick wit. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – Brayden, Taylor, Owen and Ian as well as her extended family.
She enjoyed a game of Rummoli and was always up for a good game of “Queens” with her brother Jim and his wife Chris.
Verna will be dearly missed by her son Hal (Sheila) Hardy of Fort McMurray AB, their children Brent, Ryan and Shelby; Shelley (Scott) MacKinnon of Lower Coverdale NB, their children Shane (Shannon), Megan and Scottie; Julie-Ann (Garnet) Trenholm of Fort Lawrence NS, their children Jason (Morgan), Jennifer (Jeff), Tracy (Tim); Brother Jim (Chris) Morris of Amherst NS, as well as extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy Duguay and her sister Elaine Fraser.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Centennial Villa who went above and beyond and loved our Mum. Thanks to the staff at Gables Lodge for their outstanding care in her final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Following Verna’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A graveside interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery on Thursday November 8th, 2018 at 2:00pm.
Donations may be made in Verna’s memory to the YMCA of Cumberland or a charity of your choice.
