Obituary of Velma Rose
Rose: Velma (Gilbert), a resident of Bothwell, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Ashwood Manor, Lambeth at the age of 85. Born in Chatham Twp., daughter of the late John and Pearl (Stacy) Gilbert. Loving mother of William Rose, Elizabeth Rose (Philippe Morin), and Barbara Rose (Late Wolfgang Vincenti 2013). Cherished Gramma of Carter and Austin Rose, Alexandra & Gabrielle Morin. Dear sister of Mary Ellen Mortier of Chatham, Dick Gilbert of Chatham and Evelyn Patterson of Bothwell. Dear sister-in-law of Ruth Gilbert, Shirley Gilbert, Jean Gilbert, and Doug and Marion Rose. Sadly missed by daughter-in-law Lois Williams. Predeceased by sisters Jean Jones and Nora Herbert, and brothers Murray, Glen, and Eldon Gilbert; brothers and sisters-in-law Mary Gilbert, Gerald Jones, Perc Herbert, Bert Mortier, Ross Patterson, Elva & Gordon Shortreed, Jess and Ted Brown, Ray Pare, Jim and Beulah Radcliffe and June Rose. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Velma’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Retro Suites, 2 Kings St. W. Chatham, ON. Interment has taken place in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. If desired, donations to the Bothwell United Church, (178 Elm St. W., Bothwell, ON, N0P 1C0) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
