Obituary of Ulrich Meier
Meier: Ulrich “Bill” a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the age of 71. Born in Glattfelden, Switzerland, son of the late Ernest and Rosa (Beck) Meier. Bill was a member of the Thamesville Fire Department from 1978 – 1992 and worked as a mechanic servicing the many fire trucks in the municipality for many years. Beloved husband of Phyliss (Smith) Meier. Loving father of Jamie Meier (Jude) of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Marcia Parry (Dave) of Highgate. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kiley, Maddie, and Jackson, Kennedy Greening (Gabriel), Jacob and Lucas. Dear brother of Lily Johnson (George) of Kerwood, Nellie King (Late Roy) of Glencoe. Predeceased by his in-laws Everett and Doris Smith. The Meier family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Tuesday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The Chatham-Kent Fire Service will hold a walk through on Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM . The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Cremation with Interment in Mayhew-Mt.Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to The London Regional Cancer Clinic or Camp Bucko (Burn Camp for Kids in Ontario) would be appreciated by the family.
