Sin, Tin Yu (Tom)
Tin Yu (Tom) Sin, 81, of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Dartmouth General Hospital with his wife Teresa by his side.
A visitation to pay respects will be held on Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 2:00-4:00pm at Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road, Dartmouth, NS B2V 1N2. Cremation will be completed before the visitation.
Tin Yu was born on September 26, 1937 in Kowloon, Hong Kong to Yung Fai Sin and Fung Kam Sin (Choy). He married Teresa in Hong Kong almost 47 years ago. Tin Yu had a long career as a civil engineer with Public Works and Government Services Canada in Halifax. He loved to travel, cruising to Hawaii, the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and Europe. He enjoyed investing and finance, watching sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could.
Tin Yu is survived by his wife, Teresa Sin, three daughters, Carol Sin and husband Simon Dawes of Calgary, AB; two grandchildren Brandon and Jasmine, Clara Sin of Toronto, ON; Catherine Cho and husband Richard; two grandchildren Ariana and Cassandra and son Donald Sin and his wife Michelle Delbaere; two grandchildren Henry and Isaac, his sisters Doris Fordyce (Sin) and husband Byron of Toronto, ON and Grace Chan (Sin) and husband Keith of Mississauga, ON, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister, Alice Chan (Sin).
