Thomas’ Obituary
LOWER BARNEYS RIVER – Thomas Cameron “Trout” MacDonald, 61, Lower Barneys River, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018.
Born in Toronto, Ont., he was a son of Irene Mary (Conrad) MacDonald, Lower Barneys River and the late Robert Melrose MacDonald. Thomas was a millwright and welder, and a member of Millwright Union Local No. 1916, Hamilton, Ont. He was employed throughout Ontario for many years. Lovingly called, “Trout”, he was an avid fisherman. In earlier years, while living in Ontario, he was a member of an acting club and participated in several performances. Thomas was a great friend to animals and his dog, Gaston was his constant companion. He possessed a great sense of humour and a keen knack for telling great stories. Trout will be dearly missed by all those he loved and loved him.
Surviving besides his mother, Irene, are his long-time companion, Patricia Belmore, Hamilton; son, Shaun MacKenzie, Middleton; sisters, Deborah MacDonald, Trenton; Kathy Kennedy (Leslie MacKinnon), Lower Barneys River; Jenny (Billy) O’Laney, Merigomish; Cindy Ross, Merigomish; many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 5th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 6th.
Donations may be made in memory of Thomas to the IWK Foundation or Pictou County SPCA. (please click on link to donate online)
