Sylvia Viola Finlay
Finlay, Sylvia, The Meadows, Yarmouth passed away May 16, 2018 at the age of 83. Born in South Ohio she was the daughter to the late Lee and Letha (Hubbard) Crosby. She was a past member of the New Life Church. Sylvia enjoyed knitting, crossword and word puzzles, Bingo at the Meadows and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was a person who always had her TV turned on even if it was just for background noise. She enjoyed her many outings and especially if it included eating Lobster. She is survived by grandchildren Jamie (Jamie) Finlay-Hemeon and Billy Dugas; great grandchildren Tanisha, Jazmin, Logan; brother Leroy (Robyn) Crosby, British Columbia; sisters Helen Rafuse (George Wallace), Cedar Lake; Muriel (Mike) Ferguson, Yarmouth. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Bill Finlay, son Billy Jr.; brothers Irving, James and John; sister Ida. A memorial service in memory of Sylvia will be held Monday, May 28, 2018 at 1:00pm from the Sweeny’s Funeral home Chapel. Rev Larry Pennell officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia or Charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
