KANE, Stewart Francis
Age 88, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Stewart was born in Dartmouth, he joined the Merchant Marine’s at the age of 14 and was a veteran of the Second World War. After the war he met the love of his life, Shirley and they raised their family together in Waverley. He was a fantastic bowler and he ran Beazley Lanes for many years, then moved on to work for the Department of Highways until his retirement. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 58 years, Shirley; children, Sylvia Gardener (Bill), Paula Lawrence (Bob), Sharon Campbell, Steven Campbell, Michael Campbell, Edith Rafuse (Craig), Mark Campbell (Barb), Kathy Cogan, Frank and Hudson Kane; eight cherished grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; dear brothers, Jim (Diane), Mike (Pearl), John (Audrey); sisters, Connie Landry, Jean-Ann (John), Vicky (John) and Sheila Kane; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his father and mother Francis Kane; sister, Mary (Jim); brother, Donny; daughter-in-law, Sheila Campbell; brother-in-law Vince Landry. A special thank you to the staff at Parkstone Enhanced Care for their exceptional compassion and care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 10 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive followed by a reception.
