Steve passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the age of 73 years. Survived by his loving daughters Tina (Eric) Jansen of North Delta, BC, and Bonnie Williamson of Penticton, BC. Four grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Sarah and Rachel. Sister, Dorothy Friesen of West Kelowna, as well as a large extended family and friends, who were all very precious and dear to him.
Steve travelled widely throughout western Canada working as a heavy-duty construction mechanic on infrastructure… Read More » projects such as Mica Creek dam, the Revelstoke tunnels, Tumbler Ridge mines, and the world’s largest sluice box at the time, in the Yukon.
In between projects, he was a logger, fly fishing guide at Allendale Lake, a farmer in Thorhild, Alberta, owner of OK Falls Hardware, cherry orchardist in Penticton, BC. He hunted. He raised everything from pigeons to Mackenzie River sled dogs. He ran a one man mill from tree to installed tongue and groove paneling. He was excellent with cards and could win any game you put in front of him.
