Stella passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018. She was born in Olds, Alberta on November 17, 1920, all her schooling was in Didsbury and she also attended Olds College, where she became an LPN and worked mainly at the Michener Centre in Red Deer.
On June 14, 1952 Stella married George Young. They resided at the family farm until George’s passing in May 1995 at which time Stella moved to Wild Rose Court where she stayed until 2009, until she moved across the road to the Foothills Lodge until 2016, when she moved to the new Seniors Lodge in SW Sundre until just before her passing. Stella is survived by Murray, Sheila and Heather (Jim); 9 Grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her husband George; all of her siblings and George’s siblings. A Memorial Service was held at the Faith Lutheran Church, Sundre, AB on Friday May 18, 2018. In lieu of flowers donation’s in Stella’s memory may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or the Sundre Hospital Palliative Care Society.
