A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON died in Pembroke on the 7th day of November, 2018 in the 63rd year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her sisters, Olga Rakai, GSIC, Mary Toth, devoted nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Theresa (Kormos), and her sisters Irene Toth, Theresa Takacs and Julia Trohak. Sister Ethel was born on September 24,1933 in Esterhazy, SK. She entered the Community on September 8, 1956, pronouncing final vows on August 9, 1961. Her primary ministry, for many years, involved Food Supervision, serving in the Ottawa area and the Motherhouse. Later, moving to Parish Ministry, she worked as Pastoral Associate at St. Agnes Parish in Thunder Bay. In 2012 she moved to Caritas, the Grey Sisters Residence in Pembroke. In 2015, she transferred to Shalom Residence, where she peacefully lived her final years. Visitation at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke on Monday, November 12th, 2018 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Liturgy in the chapel at 10:30. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery. Arrangements by the
