Born: May 31, 1932 Death: April 30, 2018

Shirley was always proud of her idyllic childhood on a PEI farm with her five brothers and sisters.
She loved to share stories of the pony she took to school, and talk of the kitchen parties full of laughter and music.

Shirley was educated in the one room schoolhouse and went on to graduate from Prince of Wales College.
She began her career as a Laboratory Technician, first in Charlottetown and then in Alberton, PEI. On a blind date set up by her brother Claude, Shirley met Bruce Moore.
After their marriage in 1956, they embarked on a lifetime of Ministry in several churches throughout the Maritimes.
In the capacity of a pastor’s wife, she played the piano, sang alto in the choir, taught Sunday School, lead groups for children and seniors meetings and was an active member of the ladies Friendly Auxiliary.
She learned to sign for the deaf and interpreted many church functions for the deaf within the church congregation.
She especially enjoyed her years with the students at Devon Park Christian School.
Always a gracious hostess, she thrived on entertaining.
When Shirley opened her door, for visiting clergy, a ladies meeting, a rowdy youth group, or simply for a cup of tea, she was, as she would say, “in her element”.
She was a caring, compassionate lady, who will be deeply missed.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 2- 8 pm and also on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Devon Park Baptist Church, Fredericton, NB from 12:30-1:30pm; followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm.
Interment will take place in Central Bedeque United Baptist

Church Cemetery, Central Bedeque, PEI on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendly Auxiliary at Devon Park Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
