PASSES AWAY
Shirley Ann Buchanan – 75, of Kentville, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in
the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville she was a
daughter of the late Russell and Kathleen “Kay” (Legge)
Crandall. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. Shirley had owned and operated her own hair dressing
business for a number of years on Cornwallis Street, Kentville. She
was a long time member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary and was an honourary member of the Kentville
Volunteer Fire Department. Shirley was a former member of the
Kentville Lionettes Club. She is survived by her husband, William
“Bill”; a son, Allen (Marie Claire), New Minas; two
granddaughters, Breanne (Rick Corkum), Berwick and Jacqueline (Hugh
Craig), Canaan Mountain; great grandson, Myles; one brother, Darrell
(Susan Shiers); special cousin, Betty Jean LeBlanc; many cousins,
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, David and a
sister-in-law, Polly Crandall. Cremation has taken place. There will
be no visitation, by request. A celebration of Shirley’s
life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 in the
Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, Reverend Trent D.
Cleveland-Thompson and Reverend Doctor Judy Saunders officiating.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
