SCHUELER Herbert —

SCHUELER, Herbert

Herbert passed away peacefully on July 18th at the age of 90 in Kelowna. He is survived by his loving wife Frieda, 3 children Harold (Karyn), Karen, Randy (Michelle) of Kelowna; 6 grandchildren Sandra (Martin), Melissa (Erique), Emalie, Jordan, Rachel and Landon.
Herbert was born in Pawlowka, Romania August 6, 1927. He immigrated to Canada when he was 24 years old and worked as a carpenter in the Okanagan.
Herbert met his wife Frieda in Kelowna and they were married December 26th, 1954.
Herbert was an amazing handyman and builder. He loved maintaining the house, yard and would drop everything to come help his family with whatever they needed. Herbert also really enjoyed building furniture and wooden toys for his 6 grandchildren.
He will always be remembered for his humility, love for his family and will be sadly missed. Many who met him would recall his dry sense of humor, jokes and stories and ability to fix and build anything.
A private graveside service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on July 26th, 2018.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
