Sandra Bernard
Bernard, Sandra ( nee Jenkins) at the Huron Residential Hospice in Clinton, Ontario. After a lengthy and most courageous battle with Ovarian cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Bernard , on July 12, 2018 at the age of 74. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 54 years, Jules Bernard , as well as, her daughter Julie Bernard ( Bill Henderson) , her brothers Eddy Jenkins ( Debra) and Greg Jenkins ( Lorna) Her grandchildren Nathan Bernard-Farrugia , Jordana Ruddy (Chris) and Great-Grand Daughter Abriele Boire and Karen Rannou (Herve). Her many sisters and brothers-in-law Lise Bernard , Helene Bernard( Andre), Claire Bernard ,Lorraine Bernard Provost ,Andre Bernard( Fernande) , Francois Bernard as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Also, her beloved dog Olive. She will be missed by her many friends in Goderich and her Meneset family. Pre-deceased by her brother-in-law Normand Bernard April 11, 2018.
In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to McCallum and Palla Funeral Home. The Bernard family will announce a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
Sandy loved life and all the beautiful things it had to offer. She retired from the City of London, picked up her golf bag and never looked back. To entertain and host her family and friends was pure joy for Sandy. In her final days, she still talked of wanting to cook a beautiful meal for her family. She taught us a lot about being graceful, gracious and grateful.
Sandy’s family would like to offer special thanks to the team at Huron Residential Hospice for their incredible care and compassion over the last 4 weeks. As well as the Care Partners team in Goderich. We can never thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huron Residential Hospice or the palliative care team of Huron- Perth would be appreciated.
