Griffin: Ruth
Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday May 21, 2018 at the age of 83. Ruth Cook, beloved wife of Ted Griffin. Much loved mother of Nancy, Connie and Stephen. Cherished grandmother of Tim, Royden, Matthew, Lisa and Brian. Predeceased by 2 sisters Marion Vankounghnet and Hildred McCutheon. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in our chapel on Friday May 25 at 11:00 am. Interment Gananoque cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Cancer Centre) or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. Ruth will be missed by many for her involvement in a number of things like canvassing for charitable organizations, an early years Girl Guide Leader, Driving cancer patients to their appointments, delivering meals on wheels, delivered library books to shut ins, Long time member of the UCW, retired teacher, and worked as an administrator in her husband’s construction business, “Griffin Bro’s”.
