SPARLING, Ronald Joseph
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London on Monday, September 10, 2018 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Gwen Sparling for 61 years. Cherished father of the late Kimberley (2011), Chris (Susan), and Ron (Sherri). Proud papa of Bradley (Jami), Corey (Stephanie), Angela (David) Hanley, Ben (Mackenzie) and great-papa to Colton, Bryce, Sophie, Daphnie, and Nixon. Predeceased by his brothers Jim and Earl (Bud). He will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Ron was passionately involved and supported Community Living London, specifically New Vision Advocates. Ron was also involved with multiple minor sporting associations including LMHA, Nelson Park Softball Association and the Byron Umpires Association. He was an avid fisherman and belonged to Western Ontario Fish and Game Protective ASSN. Ron has been retired for many years from GM Diesel in both their maintenance department and LAV Program. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London. The celebration of life service will be held at St. Georges Presbyterian Church, 1475 Dundas Street East, London on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private family interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Community Living London, St. Georges Presbyterian Church or to St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.
