Ronald Frid 19472018

In the afternoon of Wednesday December 19, 2018, we said prayers and
goodbyes for our loved one, Ronald Douglas Frid, as he passed away
peacefully at home at age 71 (Pops would say his 72nd year), with his
loving family by his side. Ron was the cherished husband of Armina,
loving father of Nathanial, Matthew, Sarah, April, Nicholas, and
Jennifer, brother of Robin, and was preceded in death by his late wife
Helen and parents Douglas and Myrtle. Ron was a man of many, many,
many words, but also many talents and had a real gift for making close
connections with people, and those who truly knew him, loved him. He
took great pride in running his family business York Greenhouses. He
was a musician who played the Cordovox, a skillful fisherman who loved
the natural beauty of the outdoors, but his true passion was running.
Ron competed in many races throughout his life and even set record
times but as he said, unfortunately he couldn’t outrun cancer.
He was the strongest man we knew and even during the roughest times of
his life he never gave in. He always encouraged us to live life to the
fullest, and be the best version of ourselves that we can be. He made
us think, made us laugh, and made us so thankful and blessed to have a
man like him in our lives. His remains are entrusted to the Belvedere
Funeral Home where he has been cremated. According to Ron’s
wishes, there will be no public visitation at this time, as we will be
having a private family celebration of his life. A funeral service is
to be held at a later date.
“Cancer will not win because when I die, I’m taking it
with me.” … Ron Frid.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ronald Frid 19472018..
