Mr. Roland “Lefty” Montreuil
September 12th, 1935 – April 13th, 2018
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls on Friday, April 13th, 2018 at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Ovila Montreuil and the late Rosa Montreuil (nee Roy) and husband of the late Cecile Montreuil (nee Labine). He will be deeply missed by his children Claude (Gail) of Iroquois Falls, Roger Montreuil of Iroquois Falls, Georges (Anne) of Ottawa, Lionel (Jennifer) Montreuil of Iroquois Falls and Monique (Ron) Murdoch of Tweed. He was the Dear Pépère of Jennifer (Andrew), Greg (Naomi), Kameron (Karen), Miranda (Evan), Michel, Julie, Taylor (Kylie) and Logan (Harley), Dear Grandpapa of James and Blake. He also leaves behind his dear friend and companion Janine Grondin, his siblings Thérèse (late Gérard) Forget of Iroquois Falls, Marie (late Paul) Cloutier of Ottawa, Marcel (Joyce) Montreuil of Iroquois Falls, Jean-Paul (Noelline) Montreuil of Iroquois Falls, Hélène (Marcel) Turpin of Timmins, Émilien Montreuil of St. Catharines, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by his brother Rhéal (late Ruth) Montreuil.
The Mass of Christian’s Burial will be held on Monday June 4th, 2018 at 11am at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Roman Catholic Church in Iroquois Falls followed by a reception at the Church hall and the burial at the Old Abitibi Cemetery.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Claude (Gail) d’Iroquois Falls, Roger Montreuil d’Iroquois Falls, Georges (Anne) d’Ottawa, Lionel (Jennifer) Montreuil d’Iroquois Falls et Monique (Ron) Murdoch de Tweed. Il était le cher Pépère de Jennifer (Andrew), Greg (Naomi), Kameron (Karen), Miranda (Evan), Michel, Julie, Taylor (Kylie) et Logan (Harley), le Grandpapa chéris de James et Blake. Il laisse également sa tendre amie et compagne Janine Grondin, ses frères et sœurs Thérèse (feu Gérald) Forget d’Iroquois Falls, Marie (feu Paul) Cloutier d’Ottawa, Marcel (Joyce) Montreuil d’Iroquois Falls, Jean-Paul (Noelline) Montreuil d’Iroquois Falls, Hélène (Marcel) Turpin de Timmins, Émilien Montreuil de St. Catharines, plusieurs neveux et nièces, autres parentés et amis. Il est aussi allé rejoindre son frère Rhéal (feu Ruth) Montreuil.
Les funérailles auront lieu le lundi 4 juin 2018 à 11h à l’Église Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens d’Iroquois Falls Une réception suivra à la salle de l’Église et l’enterrement au vieux Cimetière Abitibi.
