ROBYN (ROB) TRACY BREZINSKI
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Rob Brezinski at the age of 55.
Loving husband to Erin (nee Connolly) of Calgary for 15 wonderful years, devoted son to Phil and Jane Brezinski, loyal older brother to Kim (Brad Olson) of Spruce Grove, and proud uncle to their children, Ryan, Leah and Brett. Rob leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins in the large Brezinski and Pankewich families, along with his mother-in-law, Maureen Connolly, several brothers and sisters-in-law and multi-generations of nieces and nephews in the Connolly family.
Rob was born in St. Boniface, (Winnipeg) Manitoba, but relocated with his family to Calgary when he was 2 years old and never wanted to live elsewhere. He was a lifelong Calgary Flames fan but also thoroughly enjoyed cheering at his nephew’s and niece’s many games.
He worked as an Electrician for the past 30 years and took great pride in his work, making many friends along the way. Movie nights and Hockey Night in Canada with Erin, a Budweiser, steak and his mom’s perogies were all he needed. Rob’s green thumb helped create their backyard oasis where neighbours and family gathered. Willow, their cat, started as Erin’s pet but ended as Rob’s very special companion – a connection he treasured.
Rob will be remembered for his witty sense of humour, endless stories and jokes, gentleness and passion for hockey – no one could recite stats like Rob. We will deeply miss his happy and infectious laugh and mischievous grin.
A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held at the Delta Hotel in the Bonavista Ballroom, Tower Building, 135
Southland Drive, SE on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. The family welcomes any stories or sentiment you would like to share as we all honour Rob.
In memory, jumpstart.canadiantire.ca. supports underprivileged children who wish to play hockey. Nothing would make Rob happier than knowing his passing has provided a child with the opportunity to play the game he loved most. Our beloved Calgary Flames fan and statistician has left the Saddledome one last time.
