OBITUARY
Robert Frank Sarty
25 July , 1935 – 12 May , 2018
SARTY, Robert Frank – Passed away on May 12, 2018 at the age of 82 after a short battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Arnold Nelson Sarty and Doris Geraldine Sarty (Colwell) of Halifax. He is survived by his wife Cathy (Owen).
He was an avid sailor, member of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and Dartmouth Yacht Club and spent many years as Yacht Measurer for what is now known as Sail Nova Scotia. He loved nothing more than taking family and friends sailing aboard his beloved “Aspotogan II”.
He spent his working years as a land surveyor for Nova Scotia Power, Having retired in 1991 after 34 years.
A special thank you to the nursing staff on 4 East, Dartmouth General Hospital. Their care and compassion was deeply appreciated. I would also like to give a huge thank you to my brother-in-law Claude for all his assistance at this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11am. Visitation, Celebration of Bob’s life and reception will be held at the funeral home.
