BARRIE, Robert – Mr. Robert John Barrie peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family in Cornwall on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Bethaia “Betty” Barrie (née Branchaud) and his wonderful children Randy John Barrie (Tracy) and Traci Lynn Coté (Joel). Sadly missed by his precious grandchildren Caleb and Jackson. Dear brother of Ronald (Lorraine). Predeceased by his siblings Lillian Phillips (Duncan), Wallace “Wally” (Bonnie), James “Jim” (Joyce), and his parents James and Margaret (née Sterling) Barrie. Bob was an avid bridge player and golfer, and an active member of the Cornwall Golf and Country Club for 68 years. Bob is remembered as a teacher and basketball coach. To honour Bob’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, where visitation will take place Monday December 17, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A funeral ceremony will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at 1PM. Interment to take place at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery in the spring. If so desired donations in his memory to Cornwall Hospice or the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
