Ritva Esteri Mikkola passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2018 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Born in Hameenlinna, Finland on
May 27th, 1933 she was predeceased by her husband Erkki Mikkola, December 1st, 1990.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters Marja (Wayne) and Liisa (Allen) and her 5 grandchildren – Jeffery, Jeremy (Denise),
Jayme, Jessica and Jonathon and 2 great grand children Owen and Liam.
She loved being a Mummu to her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She lavished them with love and cherished them
deeply. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith and strength of character. We will miss her
fondness for glitzy hats and her unique colorful sense of style. As an outgoing social person who loved to entertain, she leaves to
mourn her numerous friends including her lifelong friendship with our dear family friend Ritva Saukko.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
