Raymond Joseph MacKenzie
1938-2018
MacKenzie, Raymond Joseph, 80, formerly of Harbour Centre,
passed away on December 27, 2018, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home,
Antigonish.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late John Alex and
Christina (MacLean) MacKenzie.
Raymond worked at St.F.X. University for 32 years.
He enjoyed farming and his horses. He participated in horse
pulls at the Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition and around the province
for many years. He also enjoyed dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Gordie (Shelly), Fort
St. John, BC; and Kenny (Connie), Truro; daughters, Ann Marie (Dean)
MacKenzie, New Glasgow; and Carlie (Mike) McDonald, Havre Boucher; two
grandchildren; sister, Dorothy MacKenzie, and several nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by sisters, Mary, Josie, and Margaret; and
brothers, Billy, Johnny, Ralph, and Gordie.
Visitation will be held Sunday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Funeral Mass will be Monday in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, at
10:00am, Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding. Burial in St.
Ninian Cemetery.
