Obituary of Phillip Smith
SMITH- Phillip Wayne, 63, Summerville, passed away at home on July 25, 2018. Born in Walton on February 19, 1955, he was the son of the late Ralph and Agnes (Weatherbee) Smith. Phillip retired from the HVAC industry after a career span of approximately 40 years. He was an honorary member of the Summerville and District Volunteer Fire department, where he had formerly served as fire chief for 10 years. Phillip is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Michelle (James) Lyon, Summerville, and Christine Smith (Tommy Anthony), Windsor; grandsons, Seth, Ronan and Jude Lyon and granddaughter Paityn Anthony; sisters, Linda (Burton) Sanford, Walton; Marcia (Allen) Galley, Tumbler Ridge BC; and Heather Smith, Walton; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Sharon Burgess and Carol Houghton, brothers, David and Brian, and in-laws, Stanley and Delta Lake. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 29th at 2pm in Loyal Hill Cemetery Summerville. Reception to follow at Summerville and District Fire Hall, 59 Wharf Road. Donations in memory can be made to the Summerville and District Volunteer Fire Department, 59 Summerville Wharf Road, Summerville, NS, B0N 2K0 or Loyal Hill Cemetery ℅ Juliette Spencer, 33 Nunn Road, Summerville, NS B0N 2K0.
