February 1, 1926 – May 16, 2018

The passing of Pearl (Bell) Johnston, wife of Thomas Johnston, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 1, 1926 in Taymouth, NB, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Clara (Abernethy) Bell. Pearl was a member of Marysville United Church of Canada. She enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening and bowling.

Besides her husband, Pearl is survived by her son, Ronald Johnston (Carolyn) of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Betty Johnston of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Alice Haines of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents; sisters, Marion Grant (Fraser) and Greta Wall (Stewart “Buster”); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Brett Anningson and Rev. Dr. Yvette Swan officiating. Interment will take place in Taymouth Community Cemetery, Taymouth, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation, IWK Foundation or the Taymouth Community Cemtery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
