Osborne Walter King
January 20, 1921 – May 29, 2018
In his 98th year, Osborne, a WWII Veteran, died peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, he was the son of Darling Evelyn Groat and Walter Peter King. Loving husband of Ila Blanche King (nee Kirkpatrick), predeceased. Brother of Halcyon Beatrice Mills and Joseph King (predeceased), and his niece Sharon Tate. Brother-in-law of Helen Cameron, Roy Kirkpatrick and Harry MacFawn. Also missed by many nieces and nephews.
Osborne was a member of Glad Tidings (now Church on the Hill) since 1962, sang in the choir, was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He served four years overseas, was a faithful Avon driver and delivered for Meals on Wheels. He moved to Cobourg in 1962, served with Core for Commissionaires (security) for 15 years, Pillsbury Foods for 12 years and served in the military for 27 years, and was an active member at the Legion. After his beloved Ila passed away suddenly in 2008, Osborne moved to Legion Village where he enjoyed making friends and he loved to laugh. He was a pleasant fella and loved the ladies wherever he was! He was always happy to see you for a visit.
