Obituary of Odetta Letkemann (nee Mewhinney)
Letkemann, Odetta Jean (nee Mewhinney) – Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on March 30, 2018 at the age of 87. Born December 25, 1930 in Bruce Township, Ontario, she lived in St. Catharines for over 60 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Erich (2009). Dear friend to Fred Leroux (2015). Remembered by her beloved children Sandra (late Bob 2010) Nemcko, Kathi (Don) Rogers, Terri (Jeff) Neudorf, and Don (Linda) McInnes. Her most cherished role was that of “Nanny” to Jodi, Greg (Trina), Rob (Seungeun), Dawn (Paul), Erika, Kristen and Ashley. Proud “Great Nanny” to Darby, Ian, Maeve, Liam, Addison and Hewitt. Also survived by her brother Alex (Mary Jane) and Margaret (late Max 2003). The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the kindness and care of our mom to the staff at St. Catharines Place.
The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, on Saturday April 7 from 10am – 12pm. A private memorial service and burial at Lovat Cemetery will take place at a later time. Cremation has taken place already. Memorial donations may be made to Community Care in Odetta’s honour.
