Norma Sherris
With heavy hearts we say good-bye to Norma Sherris, beloved wife, mother and grandma. At the age of 84, after a short battle with cancer, she passed gently in her sleep. Daughter of Joe Fisher (predeceased) and step-mom Claire Fisher (predeceased) She will be dearly missed by son Martin Sherris and his wife Rhonda, daughter Janet Currier and her husband Rob, grandchildren Lindsay Asselstine, Matthew Sherris and his wife Sara, Cameron Asselstine, as well as several family members in England. Norma is lovingly welcomed by husband Alan Sherris (predeceased) and son John Sherris (predeceased). Norma was a devoted grandma, feeding and caring for all who came to visit. She enjoyed reading and had a zest for life. Mom, you will be remembered as an intelligent, vibrant, giving mom and grandma, and we are grateful for the time we were honoured to share with you. Many thanks to the staff at the Rosewood Retirement Residence and St. Elizabeth Healthcare. In her own words, “They are wonderful”.
Friends and family will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial and Taylor-Kidd Blvd) on Saturday August 18th, 2018 from 10 – 11 a.m. with Funeral Service in The Chapel at 11 a.m. then Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery. A reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
