Dauphinee, Nelson Stewart – Age 90 of Lantz, passed away November 14, 2018, in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, where he had been a resident for 12 years. Born in Lower Tantallon, he was a son of the late Harold and Mary (Romans) Dauphinee.
Nelson retired from Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel after 22 years of employment. He had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed hunting. After retiring, he could often be found in the woods picking wildflowers for the ladies in the neighbourhood. He enjoyed being in nature, life in general, and particularly being with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Florence Caddell; children, David, Dartmouth; Gail Fullion (Steve Swinimer), Nine Mile River; Kitty (Blaine) Miller, Crystal (John) Ashley, both of Elmsdale; Twila Dauphinee, Nine Mile River; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sisters, Edna (Gordon) Deman, Elmsdale; Ethel Deman, Belnan. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Morgan Ashley; sister, Esther Fancy; brothers, Art, Don, Ralph.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. No visitation or funeral service by request. Memorial donations to Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
