REMEMBERING MONA
Peacefully, on June 19, 2018, at the Edmonton General, Mona went to be with the angels.
She will be remembered by her children: Wayne (Claudine), Debra, Nancy, Sandra, and Joey; grandchildren Suzanne, James, Michael, Brenda, Jimmy, Brenda, and Tabby; brothers John (Ilene), Jimmy (Jewel), and Jerry (Joyce). Mona will also be missed by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Mona was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents, Paul and Rozie Melanson, her daughter Donna, and brothers, Freddy and Wayne.
Mona was born in Nova Scotia, and came to Alberta in the 1970s. She worked as a custodian at the UofA, and at the Edmonton School Board. Mona loved people, and always had candy for family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 6 pm, Friday, June 29, 2018, at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road NW. Interment will take place at noon, Saturday, June 30, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
A special thank you to everyone who cared for Mona during her final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mona’s name may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.
