In his 52nd year after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer, Mike passed away at the GRCH on September 1st. Loving father of Cheyenne McCrory (Waterloo) and Ben (Kitchener). Much loved uncle to nieces Brittany Upton, Cassondra McCrory, Carly McCrory, Mikayla McCrory and nephew Zachary Croft. Mike is survived by his brother Wayne (Michelle) and sister Carlyne (Alain). He is predeceased by his parents, Doris and Keith.
“Mick “as he was affectionately known to his co-workers and friends loved life and had an easy smile and quick wit. He made friends wherever he went and was an avid golfer who loved sports, fishing and being outdoors. He will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him as being the life of the party and will be sadly missed.
He was known for his great work ethic, and his willingness to stop what he was doing and help others. His sense of humour, laughter and his “stabbing “putter style will be missed by his buddies at the Rockway Golf course in Kitchener. His family witnessed an inner strength and fight with a positive attitude in the face of a grim prognosis during the last 2 years. Thanks to Dr. Stacey Hubbay and all the doctors, nurses and pain management staff at Grand River Regional Cancer Center for all the compassion, care and dignity you gave him.
A visitation will take place at Henry Walser funeral Home, Kitchener on Monday, September 10 from 3 -5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Creekside Church, 660 Conservation Dr., Waterloo on September 11 at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
